What is IT01 AI?
An app for Mac, Windows and Linux that prepares your IT01, the yearly income tax return filed in Mauritius, from your own documents.
Will it read my bank's statements?
Yes. IT01 AI reads the standard statements from MCB, SBM and Absa, as PDFs or scans. It also reads payslips and the statement of emoluments from your employer.
Does it submit my return?
No. IT01 AI lists each field of the return with its value, in the order the return asks for them. You type them in and submit the return yourself.
How do I know a figure is right?
Each figure names the rule that produced it and links to the page of the law, so you can check it yourself.
Does it need the internet?
Only to set up, to check your licence and to update. It reads your documents offline.
Does it cost less than an accounting firm?
Yes. Accounting firms typically charge several times this price to prepare a return. IT01 AI costs Rs 4,990 for the whole income year.
Can I use it during the year?
Yes. Add each statement as it arrives. The Overview shows the income you have received so far, month by month.
Is it a subscription?
No. One payment of Rs 4,990 covers one income year. A licence lasts 12 months on up to two computers and does not renew automatically.
I lost my licence key.
Use Find my key. You sign in with the email you bought with, and your keys are listed there.
Is IT01 AI made by the tax authority?
No. IT01 AI is independent software. It is not made by the Mauritius Revenue Authority or linked to it.
